Content and Instructional Specialist

The Content and Instructional Specialist is a team member who will help create high-quality instructional materials for teachers and provide professional learning experiences for teachers on how to use our instructional materials.

What you will be doing...

The focus of the work you will do will change depending on the time of year and current initiatives and/or projects going on at ADI. During Q1 (Jan-Mar) and Q3 (Jul-Sep), our content and instructional specialists usually spend most of their time working with our programs team. During this time, the content and instructional specialist can expect to be responsible for:

  1. Facilitating one-to-four-day professional learning experiences for teachers at school districts throughout the United States (requires heavy travel).
  2. Facilitating one-to-two-week STEM Camps for students at school districts throughout the United States (requires heavy travel).
  3. Leading three-to-four-day Facilitator Institutes for district leaders.
  4. Helping to maintain and update the ADI Learning Hub with new resources (see www.adilearninghub.com)

During Q2 (Apr-Jun) and Q4 (Oct-Dec), our content and instructional specialists usually spend most of their time working with our product team. During this time, the content and instructional specialist can expect to be responsible for:

  1. Creating high-quality instructional materials in science, math, and/or engineering.
  2. Updating existing or creating new professional learning experiences for teachers.

  3. Helping to maintain and update the ADI Learning Hub with new resources (see www.adilearninghub.com)

Location: Austin, TX

Time Commitment: Full-Time

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in science, mathematics, engineering, or science education, math education, or engineering education (or related field).

  2. Experience teaching science, mathematics, or engineering.

  3. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and balance work on multiple projects.

  4. Demonstrated ability to use educational technology, “pick up” new technologies quickly, and troubleshoot “blockers.”

  5. Excellent written and oral communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree in science, mathematics, engineering, or science education, math education, or engineering education (or related field).

  2. Experience creating instructional materials in science, mathematics, or engineering

  3. Widely read in education and at least one content area (science, mathematics, or engineering), with strong reading and thinking skills.

  4. Strong collaboration skills.

  5. Ability to receive and apply feedback.

  6. Detail-oriented.
